You may have read around the site and asked yourself “Who is this guy and what makes him the expert?”
Well hello there! My name is Lee, I go around the internet under the tag ‘Gard’. I play a bunch of different games, but love the high skill ceiling ones like League of Legends, Dota 2, Magic: The Gathering, and Solforge. It’s nice to make your acquaintance.
I already explained a bit of my motivations for creating a F2P run in the mission statement, but I never really addressed my credentials.
Truth be told, I don’t have very many.
I’ve been playing Solforge since Alpha, but took a break before Set 3 (Secrets of Solis) was released. I came back right before Set 5 (Reign of Varna) came out, and was pleasantly surprised at how much SBE had improved the game, especially in draft.
I’m primarily a Constructed player, since I find it a little more interesting than draft. That said, I can’t wait for set 6’s release and a new draft pool to get cracking on that. I’ve played in a couple tournaments at solforgeladder.com, but I primarily play in the Constructed Queues were I imagine my opponents see my name and think “Oh it’s that damn Stasis Warden guy again.”
This blog is the first thing I’ve tried to do for the Community. I’ve tried to make it newer player friendly, since that is really what a F2P site is targeting in the first place. However, having played the game so long, I imagine I’ve made a few mistakes such as assuming people know things they don’t, or using obscure terminology players may not know. If you see anything that’s unclear, please point it out to me and I’ll do my best to improve.
And if you enjoy it, hey, that’s cool. Tell me you like what I’ve done. All writers appreciate this immensely.
